Guatemala 7/1/2022 - 7/17/2022

Sunday, 7/17/2022 - Departure

We woke up at 5:45 a.m. Craig had coffee and bread with peanut butter and jelly for breakfast, but I wasn't hungry. We said goodbye to Paulina, and left the house at 7 o'clock.

We stopped in to say goodbye to Paola at her clinic, since she had been working a 24 hour shift. We pulled up out front, and she came outside to give us hugs and say goodbye.

We got to Guatemala City at 9:30 a.m. We checked in and then got lunch at Pollo Campero. I ordered two 2-piece meals, but they got confused. They only gave me one 2-piece meal. When I saw that they only charged me for one order, we decided to just split the single meal rather than wait for a second to be prepared.

We went through security and immigration and were sitting at the gate by 11:00.

We were in business class, and we enjoyed some Bailey's Irish Cream. We were served a beef meal on the plane, so it was probably for the best that we didn't each have our own full Pollo Campero meal directly before boarding.

The flight was about 16 minutes late arriving in Miami. We got a wheelchair for Craig and were immediately whisked through the airport. It was quite chaotic but we made it, getting to the gate 8 minutes before boarding started.

On this flight we had a "veggie pretzel burger," which was quite good, and more Bailey's. We were well-fed today, in spite of the Pollo Campero misunderstanding.

We landed in Boston at around 11 o'clock. We picked up our luggage and hired a cab. We were home by 11:59 p.m.
