Thursday, August 28, 2025 - Working Remotely

Oreo the puppy was around all day today. I had a meeting so I needed to eat breakfast in my "office". We had omelets, bologna and cheese on a roll, and coffee.

Antonio had the day off again today, so after breakfast he took the eldest three kids to buy school shoes. They also finally were able to officially register for school. They arrived home during lunch. We had soup, lentils, pulled pork, rice, and llapingachos.

Antonio went back out to do more errands, while the girls and Aida took an afternoon nap. When I was done with work for the day, Craig and I had leftover cake and coffee/cocoa.

Dinner was soup with popcorn, along with tuna, broccoli, and spaghetti. While we were eating, the boyfriend of Sisa's cat came to the open window in the dining room. Maybe it was the smell of the tuna that attracted him. Sisa's cat sat on the floor looking up at him until he jumped down outside and ran away.

Sisa told us that she really wants us to attend her her high school graduation next July, and we were very touched that she wants us to be there. We told her to let us know as soon as she finds out the date so that we can plan our next trip.

Antonio was talking about the possibility of going to the Santagua water park in Chachimbiro on Sunday. The older kids have enjoyed going to the pools in the past, and it would be the first time for the younger ones. He was saying we could leave the house at 8 or 9 a.m. and come home at around 1 or 2 p.m. That sounded earlier than we usually go, and getting out of the house that early is challenging for Craig, but we could do it.

Then Antonio said, "When we come back, we can visit Colombia." He has talked about visiting Las Lajas Sanctuary near the Ecuadorian border, as well as the Tulcán cemetery. These are both places we would like to visit, but going to a water park and Colombia on the same day? That was definitely too much for us. Antonio laughed and said that he meant when we returned for Sisa's graduation next summer, we could visit Colombia. OK, that made more sense!

We all retired to our rooms and went to bed.
